Welcome to the website of the Peachland Community Arts Council
Fellow artists and patrons, we hope that you will be inspired to become a member of the PCAC whose purpose is to stimulate, develop, and encourage all the arts (literary, visual, and performing) in our lovely Okanagan community. We recognize the Arts as being a major contributor to the overall quality of life and economic well being of Peachland and the Okanagan. It is our aim to bring together Artists and Artisans of all media and all ages and to coordinate either their individual or group interests. We feel it extremely important that the general public (particularly our youth) be able to participate not only in the listening to, viewing, or reading of artistic works but also in the practical expression of such. We will continue to work toward the acquisition of a working space or building, a dedicated multi-purpose Community Arts facility, where artistic endeavours serving as an educational tool can be explored and the finished products exhibited and/or performed. At least a portion of the old Primary School is but one possibility. We feel that the redesign of downtown Peachland MUST integrate the planning of such a vehicle of the future. Part of our responsibilities will lie in coordinating fund-raising activities by assisting local organizations promote their work – hence the importance of this website. We encourage all local artists to contact us and feed us their material so that this website can help to expose their creativity. The Internet is one of the most valuable marketing and educational tools. PLEASE BE SURE TO BOOKMARK THIS PAGE AS YOUR PORTAL INTO OUR WEBSITE. As a non-profit organization we wish to serve and help you in any way we can. PLEASE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE OPPORTUNITY and browse through our pages before deciding how we may assist. To the left are a number of links to similar organizations in BC and our Valley. Some of these are the websites of our local talent. If you have a website or works you’d like promoted please let us know and we’ll add you to the list and/or find a spot on our website to showcase your talent on our Gallery, Literary, or Events pages. Where art works are for sale and prices marked a commission of sale will apply with a discount of course always available to our members. Happy browsing!
